Connect Shodan

Use this guide to let Cracken query Shodan host and attack-surface data.

Prerequisites

  • A Shodan account with API access
  • A Shodan plan that includes the query volume and endpoints you intend to use
  • A Cracken realm where you can configure data integrations

Prepare the credential

Copy the API key from your Shodan account. API entitlements are plan-dependent: host lookup, search, search count, and DNS operations can require paid access or available query credits. Cracken cannot grant endpoints that the key's Shodan plan does not include.

Treat the key as a secret and rotate it in Shodan if it is exposed.

Connect Shodan

  1. Open Integration Center → Data Integrations.
  2. On the Shodan card, click Install.
  3. Enter the API Key.
  4. Click Test Connection, then Save & Connect.

Cracken can perform host lookup, search, count, DNS resolve, and DNS reverse operations within the key's plan limits.
